The Breeden Company sponsors the 32nd Annual Walk for the Animals
Grab your leash and hit the Beach! Join us at the Oceanfront on Sunday, October 24, for the 32nd Annual Walk for the Animals – the region’s oldest and largest animal welfare awareness walk. Bring your friends, family and pets to enjoy a fun-filled day of activities, contests and the one-mile pledge walk down the Boardwalk! Pre-walk activities get underway at 11:30 a.m. and the pledge Walk starts down the Boardwalk at 1 p.m., rain or shine!
Friends, families and co-workers are encouraged to form “packs” and participate in the Walk together. Teams can represent businesses, schools, alumni associations, or neighborhoods or simply provide a fun and healthy way to socialize, while supporting a great cause. Teams are also eligible for special group prizes, as well as recognition for individual walkers. There will be a Team Kick-off event at the shelter on Thursday, September 9 at 6 p.m. Come out and hear about forming a team and pick up some valuable pledge-raising tips from our veteran walkers.
Another great way to start raising pledges TODAY is to create an online fundraising page through FirstGiving.com/vbspca. The site will even let you add a photo, establish a fundraising goal, and email your page out to family and friends to make a secure online donation.
Even if you can’t make this year’s Walk, we’d love to have you involved as a Cat-Napper supporter. This means that you can still gather pledges and be eligible for fundraising prizes, but won’t be part of the “pack” walk at the Oceanfront.
Walkers can register online at VBSPCA.com/Walk or by using the paper registration form from the brochure included with this newsletter. Walk registration is $20 for adults, and $10 for Youth and Teens – and that cost includes walk activities, lunch and a souvenir t-shirt!
